Trex is worth considering when you want to spend less time refinishing a wood deck. Look at samples in your own light and compare the exact collection rather than choosing by brand name alone.
How does it compare?
Compared with wood, composite generally trades a higher initial investment for less finish upkeep. TimberTech also offers manufactured decking, including a separate Advanced PVC family. Neither brand is one uniform product: finish, performance and warranty depend on the line selected. Trex boards alone are not a drainage system.
Care & installation considerations
Clean according to the selected Trex collection’s instructions and keep gaps clear of debris. Use appropriate spacing and fasteners. Composite surfaces can become hot in sunshine, so consider color, exposure and shade.
